Fall Semester General Update!
Hey, Wanderers!
With the Fall semester in full swing, we wanted to give you all an overview of the rest of the semester and events to keep your eye out for.
Auditions
This year we will be putting on two shows in a Halloweekend Spook Festival! On October 30th we will put on “The War of the Worlds” by H. G. Wells and on October 31st “The Haunting of Hill House” by F. Andrew Leslie. Both shows will be held remotely. Please note that the audition processes for the shows are not the same. "War of the Worlds" auditions will be held live via Zoom and "Hill House" auditions will be asynchronous. More information is below.
The War of the Worlds
Directed by Isabella Watson
Summary: Adapted from the original 1938 radio broadcast featuring Orson Wells, “The War of the Worlds” follows the journeys of a reporter, a professor, and a large ensemble cast as Martians invade the Earth.
Auditions will be held live over Zoom from 9/7 to 9/9 with callbacks taking place on 9/10. At this point, it is too late to sign up for an audition slot, however, if you still want to be involved with the show, come to our tech meeting on Saturday 9/12! More information about that below. If you have already auditioned, keep an eye out for a callbacks list that will be sent out sometime Wednesday night and the final cast list on either Thursday night or Friday morning.
The Haunting of Hill House
Directed by Noah Gordon
Summary: Eleanor Vance is given the opportunity of a lifetime when she is invited to assist the prestigious Dr. Montague in his study of the mysterious, long-abandoned Hill House. Together with new friends and enemies, Eleanor discovers that Hill House is not a "house" at all, but something else... something waiting... for her! Auditions will be held asynchronously. If you are interested in auditioning please fill out the following Google form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe3iZGg3JBy-AzUnpxK4CUp3AYLD-OO_N7JqqJ1iyfzgvLq9Q/viewform
The last day to submit audition recordings is Thursday 9/10 at noon. If you are unable to submit your recording by then, but want to be involved in the show, come to our tech meeting on Saturday 9/12! More information below.
Film/TV Opportunities
From the Film/TV Department: "The Department of Film and Television is interested in collaborating with student actors in our production courses, in particular our Directing classes and Production II. For the Fall 2020 semester, the Department of Film and Television is pleased to offer BU actors the opportunity to do on-camera work with the advanced Directing students and Production Faculty members. Actors who are interested will have the opportunity to participate with the Directing class either as part of in-class work or to be cast in the directors’ final projects, and of course students who are especially motivated are welcome to do both." If you'd like to find out more, please visit sites.bu.edu/ftpc/binder/cast/
